Sale-A-Bration

Only a few hours are left to take advantage of FREE stamps and accessories during Sale-A-Bration.....that's right....it ends today! You can order thru the link on the side or call or email me. But I wouldn't wait until too late :)

I made this cute little card using 2 items available for FREE ;) The Ice Cream Parlor Pack and Punch Bunch stamp set. The accents are part of the Ice Cream Parlor Pack and work just like stickers. Of course, they are much better than stickers. Very thick and easy to apply.

I borrowed the layout idea from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Book. It's a great blog that has a new layout challenge every Sunday. I couldn't decide which one to use, so I went all the way back to the very first sketch. Maybe I'll just work my way up the calendar until I've done them all :)

Supplies:

Stamps: Punch Bunch

Ink: Peach Parfait, Old Olive, Pacific Point

Paper: So Saffron, Pacific Point, Whisper White

Accessories: Ice Cream Parlor Designer Accessories Pack, Owl Punch, 1 inch circle punch, dimensionals

Flower for All Seasons

I love, love, love this little set. It is so simple and sweet. You can make a simple card, an over the top card or a holiday card. I think this lands somewhere in the middle :)

Cutting the little squares, of course, took the longest....but doesn't cutting always seem that way? It's definitely the least fun part of stamping! But to color the little flower pots was cute and painless. I scribbled a little in the center of each image with the watercolor pencils and then filled the color in with Blender Pens.

And did you know this is one of the stamps sets you can earn for FREE thru Sale-A-Bration?? That's how I finally got it for FREE last year and I don't know why I waited so long. Hurry....the sale is over March 31.

Supplies:
Stamps: Flower for All Seasons
Inks: Staz-On Black
Paper: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Watercolor Pencils, Blender Pens, Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon

Every Little Bit

About once a quarter, I (try) to attend a meeting with other demonstrators in the area. Saturday a little over a 100 of us got together and shared ideas, tips and lots of fun! Part of the meeting has a "swap" we can participate in......when you swap you make 30 of the same card and trade them for 30 different cards. It's a great way to get lots of ideas and share ideas with others :)

This was my swap!

I used a stamp set called Every Little Bit that has many, many cute images to choose from for tons of versatility. By simply changing colors and picking a different image, you can make this card for any holiday, a guy card or very girly-girly.

For the background effect, I made my own stencil! I punched out a "Lattice" Bigz die and used the piece to sponge color into the negative areas. One more fun way to add a fun twist for a background.

Supplies:
Stamps: Every Little Bit, Family Phrase, On Your Birthday
Inks: Night of Navy, Black Staz-On
Paper: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White
Accessories: Big Shot, Lattice Bigz Die, Sponge, Scallop Punch, 1 1/2 inch Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Markers: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight

Create A Cupcake

Our third and final card completed last Friday used the Create A Cupcake Stamp and coordinating punch :)

My favorite embossing folder is the Polka Dots, so I used this one to complete the series.

This last technique is a fairly simple one.....sometimes when using the embossing folder, it can be difficult to affix layers on top. So we simply adjusted our placement of the embossing folder so that we didn't emboss polka dots in the area under the daffodil delight.

The cute little cherry was made two toned by punching out two cherries. One in Always Artichoke and another in Red Glimmer Paper. I attached the red glimmer paper cherry on top and then snipped off red stem to expose the green paper. :)

The Happy Birthday banner is made free hand. I know, I know...a dirty word....no punches or measuring or anything. I simply cut a small strip from scraps, stamped the phrase, and cut a triangle out of each end :)

All three of these cards are made with a great big THANKS to my demonstrator friends....we attend (almost) monthly meetings where we share ideas and have tons of fun, of course! Each of these embossing folder techniques and inspiration for the cards were gathered from these very, very talented ladies! I will share my card and the other cards we made soon.

Supplies:
Stamps: Create A Cupcake
Inks: Daffodil Delight, Chocolate Chip
Paper: Brights Designer Patterns Paper Stack, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Big Shot, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Decorative Label Punch, 2 1/2 Circle Punch, Create A Cupcake Punch, Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, Snips

Build A Blossom

Our second card last Friday, tried a technique I have been avoiding at all costs. I am sure it is hard to tell in this photo, but if you look closely the outer tulip edge of the middle layer is white, while the inside is baja breeze.

To achieve this look, you have to use a brayer and ink up the actual embossing folder. Sounds messy? That's what I thought... It's actually not too bad :) When you ink up the embossing folder and use the debossed side of the folder.....there is no ink in little crevices AND most of the ink transfers onto your paper! I was very impressed. And one swipe of my handy dandy baby wipe and we're all cleaned up. No muss, no fuss.

See you tomorrow!

Supplies:

Stamps: Build A Blossom, Tiny Tags
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Baja Breeze
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Whisper White
Accessories: Blossom Petal Punch, 3/4 inch Circle Punch, 1/2 inch Circle Punch, Tiny Tags Punch, Big Shot, Framed Tulips Textured Embossing Folder, Baja Breeze Seam Binding, Linen Thread, Brayer, Dimensionals

Punch Potpourri

For each Mystery Hostess Class, I teach a new technique. In February, we used our embossing folders 3 different ways.

This first card, we used Hostess set, Punch Potpourri. We stamped the image in three different colors for variation, punched the images with the coordinating punch and watercolored them with Aqua painters.

Once the flowers were punched, we taped them to our cardstock and then ran the entire piece through the Big Shot using the Square Lattice Embossing Folder to achieve this rich, embossed image.

Check back tomorrow for our second card using a different technique!

Supplies:

Stamps: Punch Potpourri, Elements of Style, Thank You Kindly
Inks: Marina Mist, Peach Parfait, Soft Suede, Old Olive
Paper: Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
Accessories: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch, Basic Pearls, Aqua Painters

Create A Cupcake

The new Create A Cupcake stamp set and matching punch sure is a lot of fun to play with :) I started out making this a "simple card", and well, many of you know how that goes!! Fortunately, my workshop and classes still enjoyed making it.

I created my chocolate chip cupcake, with a cherry on top, of course, and the tempting turquoise bottom by stamping on scraps and then punching it out with the coordinating punch. The red dots were supposed to be sprinkles, but I preferred them as side accents.

And I simply couldn't resist adding the daffodil delight pom pom trim! If you haven't seen this ribbon in person, you are in for a fabulous surprise. It is so small and dainty, it's hard to resist. The mini catalog just doesn't do it justice.....

Supplies:

Stamps: Create A Cupcake
Inks: Chocolate Chip, Tempting Turquoise
Paper: Playdate DSP, So Saffron, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Real Red
Accessories: Daffodil Delight Pom Pom Trim, Create A Cupcake Punch, Pinking Hearts Border Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Glue Dots

Happy Stamping!!
