Heartfelt Thanks

This card is a tried and true favorite of mine! I think I might say most of my cards are a favorite :) But this card is so easy to make and always makes a big impact when I give it to someone or showcase it at a workshop. Everyone always love it! It easily changes colors or sayings for the perfect card to any occasion.

The stamp set used is Heartfelt Thanks and uses the 2 step stamping technique. The solid background flower works easily with a separete outlined flower stamp to give you the definition from 2 different color inks. This is how I did both the background flower on the Baja Breeze paper and then the more defined flower on the shimmery white mat and the flower that is cut out and adhered with a dimensional to make it pop out. While you can't see the subtle glitter on the shimmery white paper, it adds a very beautiful, elegant something special. It really catches the eye on this card :)

This is one I pulled out of my hat of tricks for my 4 week art series class I taught at my church this past month. As always, it was a hit!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks, Heard from the Heart
Paper: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Shimmery White
Ink: Pacific Point, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Ticket Corner Punch, Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend!! I hope you all find some time to take for yourself to relax and stamp a little!! I am very excited...my husband is having a few friends over tonight for a poker party.....so all the guys will play poker with my boys and I will have most of the evening to hide in my stamp room!!! (After I bake the brownies, I promised) YEAH!!!

Happy Stamping :)

Cheep Talk and Big Shot Fabrics

This card was designed for a special workshop. I can't always honor specific requests for a workshop, but this one was a fun challenge and worked out just lovely! My hostess loves to sew and wanted to see the Big Shot in action with fabric. She also has a "retro" style and loves owls and birds!! So the first card I designed (after several attempts) combined the fabric with her love of birdies :)

Supplies:
Stamps: Cheep Talk
Papers: Whisper White, Night of Navy
Ink: Garden Green, Night of Navy
Accessories: Big Shot, Top Note Die, Scallop #2 Die, Whisper White 1/4 inch grosgrain, sponge, corner rounder
Additional Supplies: Denim (I cut up a pair of jeans my son out grew and wore holes in the knees - I have lots of these to choose from between my 3 boys) and red, thin "silky" fabric (also acquired from a friend, who had oodles left over from a Halloween costume cape she made).

Look around for unique uses of old clothes or rags you start to toss out! The Big Shot can cut thru so many different types of materials! But the easiest to come across is fabric - and with a little creativity you can avoid a trip to the fabric store! And you don't even need the Big Shot, even though it is totally fun. You can use a piece of fabric as an accent or in the place of where you would layer a sheet of designer paper!

Happy Stamping :)

Ribbon Sampler Packages!!

Can you believe all this ribbon! I never imagined it would take me sooo long to get it all measured, cut up and divided. Some days, I thought I would be cutting forever :) And, of course, I had to come up with a way to make it easy for you to store and use!

But, everytime I sat down to work on it -I thought "ok, I'll whip it out and finish it today"....and then naturally, several hours later, I would get interuppted and need to be a Mom, again :) My kiddos do like a little attention every once in a while

Eventually, I finally finished!! And it is sooo satisfying to see all that ribbon transform from pile after pile into a neat little package all ready to go to a new home! It was even fun to hand them out. It's amazing how relaxing I found this whole process! I know, a bit nutty...what can I say :)

How satisfying to turn such chaos into this neat little package?? Not too mention, I had so much fun making the packages cute using the Delicate Dots Designer Paper I earned through Sale-A-Bration last February. I even added a little something to the inside package to thank everyone for their order. Not to mention, everyone can use their designer paper "decoration" to make a several cards! And you will have matching ribbon!!! Naturally, I used the Top Note Die for the Big Shot to make bag topper!

Stationery Holder

OK...so once again it has been a while since I posted :( Oldest son's 8th Birthday Party, a school fundraiser, a workshop, painted my living room and dining room and hallway, a stamp a stack class, cutting up ribbon, cutting up more ribbon, a poker party, and once again still cutting up ribbon for our ribbon share, my Husband's birthday, and finally I was teaching a card making class as part of an Art Series at my church. These are just a few of the things that mark the days away on my calendar faster than I can keep up with. It was all very fun, but my posting to this blog certainly was neglected..... In my Art series, we made a total of 11 projects. Most were cards, but today I want to show this great Stationery Holder we made. I was shown how to create it at a meeting I attend with many other local demonstrators and it really is easier than it looks! Isn't that how everything goes??? It also includes 4 matching cards to complete a set.

I used the Designer Series Paper that was a Sale-A-Bration reward from February and March to create the holder and decorate the matching cards. The decorative edge was made using our new eyelet border punch. The colors used were Sahara Sand, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue. Many of the embellishments were created using The Big Shot.

Isn't it cute?? Imagine the possibilities for this little basket....even though I call it the Stationery Holder for lack of a better term! Wouldn't it just be adorable as a baby shower basket? Put something different in each compartment, like a onesie, a rattle, a pacifier and a washcloth? Or for a little back to school gift with pencils, rulers, markers and scissors? If you used a 6x6 sheet of paper and made a smaller one - - wouldn't it make a cute party or shower favor filled with little candies?

I plan to host a spotlight class for this project soon!
