Cherry Cobbler Baker's twine pulls together this nautical themed card.

Angry Birds Guest Stamper - - Jennifer Jackson!!

At my Memorial Day Stamp-Cation....my friend Jennifer wanted to make an Angry Birds Card....so we quickly went on line to see what we could find and within seconds we saw how to make one!

Jennifer had a ton of fun making this card and the Angry Bird actually spins and slides along this card....she used the word window punch and a couple of pennies to make this "Penny Slider" card.
Check out my facebook page later this week for a closer look at how to make a "penny slider".

The Tasteful Trims Die for the Big Shot cut our grass....

Can you name all the punches we used to build our Angry Bird??

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the Great Dads I know!

I have a quick post for you today with 2 of the Father's Day cards I did :P

I borrowed this design from fellow demonstrator, Heather, and then, my friend Tiffany helped make it the perfect Father's Day Card.  It was a big hit with my husband...the best daddy ever, if I do say so myself :)

I just loved Heather's use of colors and layering....I tend to make my cards a little simpler, so I applaud all the help I can get to step it up a notch occassionally!

Under the car is supposed to read, "Happy Birthday to a classic"....so we used a marker to color just the parts we wanted and added the "dad" to the top to make it a fab Dad's Day car.

The inspiration for this one was borrowed from one of the great samples made by Stampin' Up! themselves...

And a quick peek of the inside!

I hope you all have enjoyed your day :)

A Musical Thank YOU!

Jacob and Timmy have been taking piano lessons since March and recently had their first piano recital.  It was soo cute and they looked like such handsome little boys, all grown up sitting at that big piano :)

I still had this great design left in my pack of Newsprint Designer Paper....so, naturally, I thought of the perfect person to give it to!

With just TWO sheets of the same design, I was able to stretch it into a set of 18 note cards!  I sat down and just started with one design...then I did made a second....and then with the "scraps" that were still left....I was able to punch out the scallop squares and complete a third design.  I couldn't believe it!!

A closer look at the first card I made....

This is actually the third card I made....the scallop squares were punched from the supposed "scraps" I had left over.  This design has a fair amount of plain vanilla areas in between the musical notes - - had it been placed closer together, I very well may have been able to squeeze a few more cards outta' this paper.

And this was the second design I played with....

A fun little picture of all 18 cards!!  It sure wasn't easy fitting them into the frame :)

The very, very handsome Timmy

The handsomely, dapper Jacob

And...finally a picture of all 5 of us....it certainly wasn't easy getting all 3 boys to "smile" at the same time...Matthew is working on us to take guitar lessons...maybe now that baseball season is over, we'll have to see :)

Puns from the Past

I have made sooo many cards with Puns from the Past!  This was a favorite I made for some of my "swaps " I did for convention last year.  I even turned it in to Stampin' Up and it was featured on the demonstrator web site!  I was quite honored :)

The base for the card is cut out using the Bigz Square Scallop Die.  If you score your card and place the "score line" just below the top cut line....your fold line will not cut and you can take advantage of the pretty edges left to shape your card.

The whisper white card stock was ran thru the Big Shot ( naturally!!) using the criss-cross texture plate.  I then used the 1/16th hole punch to make the holes at each intersection.  This texture plate made it super easy, since there were dots at the intersections!

A few fun embellishments with red polka dot ribbon, the Boho Blossoms Punch and a Crystal Brad finished off the card :)

Friends 24-7

Friends 24-7 is another stamp set that will be unavailable after June 30,  I love the flourish this set has with it.  It makes a great background, accent and even focal point for any card.

I made this card quite a while ago, so it used one of my old favorite colors....brocade blue.  The bird is actually colored using Stampin' Write Markers and there is a lot of sponging on each edge of every layer to add a little bit of a vintage feel to the card.

Below is a quick picture of the inside of this gate fold card.

Eastern Blooms

I am sure I will say this A LOT....but I can't believe SU is retiring Eastern Blooms!  I love this set and it pops out every couple months....it sure is hard to take this one off my shelf :(  To get multiple colors on our flowers and stem....we take the time to color directly on our rubber with our Stampin Write Markers....once you are finished "coloring", you "huff" on the stamp to reactivate the ink and....stamp away!

Do you just love how the stem comes out of the vase???  That ornament punch.....no need to collect dust until the holidays - - it makes a great vase....you can make it with a flat bottom and adjust the size of your vase, as well!  We ran the punched ornament thru the big shot using the Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and then lightly brushed the embossed lines in the Very Vanilla Craft Ink.

A little designer paper, Victoria Crochet Trim and a Vintage brad completes the card.

Thanks to fellow demonstrator and friend, Julie, for showing us this card at our Demonstrator's meeting :)

Sense of Time

As promised.....my first post of an ol' fave that is only available until the end of the month!  Sense of Time is a great stamp.  I love the vintage feel and it has made many, many masculine cards for me, too!

While this card is made using Perfect Plum, Basic Gray and Very Vanilla....the colors can easily be substituted with any color considered a bit more "manly".

If you look closely, you'll see the ribbon is lightly shaded gray....when I first made this card, we didn't have gray taffeta ribbon....so I dyed Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon myself by rubbing it in the Basic Gray Classic Ink Pad.  By the way....Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon is also being retired :(

The cogs are stamped "second generation" in Perfect Plum on Very Vanilla Cardstock.  These are stamped lightly so the phrase stamped in Basic Gray stands out bold and clear....

A little bit of bling with a Crystal brad completes my card!
