Birch Wood Drink Coasters

Don't you need these coasters to brighten up your room!

Made from real birch wood - I picked some big images that could be colored to add that POP!

Simply stamped with Memento Black Ink.
Colored in with regular Sharpies.
(Hint: Don't use your Stampin' UP! markers or blends - - the wood will ruin them)

After I colored the images with Sharpies -
I went over some of the lines in the image with a black sharpie to really help it stand out.

Since these are real wood slices, I added the rubber coaster feet to the bottom!
Self adhesive rubber coaster feet made it really quick and easy

These make great gifts!

I've been using my set for about 6 months and they hold up great!

I even donated a set to a Silent Auction Fundraiser - - they were a hit!

HAVE - A - HOOT - BEWARE OF COBWEBS!

HAVE - A - HOOT

Playing with my Have A Hoot Owls again!

This time I "fussy cut" the tree from a different owl in this set,
because I wanted a larger presence in the center of my card.

I used the Metallic Mesh Ribbon to cover the entire layer of Blackberry Bliss DSP
hoping it would like cobwebs....

Silver Foil adds a layer and cut the spider webs from the coordinating dies.

They are tiny, but mighty! The spiders use Silver Metallic Pearls for their little bodies!

Please, forgive my poor photography skills
 - - the Metallic Mesh Ribbon isn't quite so shiny, nor is the Silver foil.
BUT - it sure does stand out for you to see!

The angled edges on the sentiments are simply snipped.
Nothing fancy - - just a little change of pace!

Supplies:
Stamps: Have A Hoot
Cut & Emboss: Peek A Hoot Dies, Ornate Layers Dies
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Smokey Slate, Silver Foil, Regals 6x6 DSP (Blackberry Bliss)
Ink: Early Espresso, Blackberry Bliss
Blends/Markers: Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss, Pumpkin Pie, Chalk Marker
Accessories: Metallic Pearls, Dimensionals

HAVE - A - HOOT HALLOWEEN BOO!

HAVE - A - HOOT

BOO!

I have a few cards featuring these great little owls over the next few weeks!
Have to get my Halloween fix before October 31st!

This little guy is stamped right onto my sponged background and again on a scrap paper to be cut out.
That's the easiest way I get the two toned colors for the branch and owl.
Use your favorite blends and have fun coloring the little owls.

A quick peek of the inside!

Did you notice the "Have a Hoot on Halloween" and this BOO!
both share a multi toned background??

Remember, I made the oval accents using the practice scraps sponging of sunsets
and a bigger strip created the background for the owl.

Supplies:
Stamps: Have A Hoot
Cut & Emboss: Peek A Hoot Dies, Stitched Shapes
Paper: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Black Glitter Paper
Ink: Basic Black
Blends/Markers: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Basic Black, Chalk Marker
Accessories: Metallic Mesh Ribbon, Dimensionals

HAVE - A - HOOT on Halloween

HAVE - A - HOOT

You know I love Halloween and I love a "cutesy" set....
so you know I had to play with the Have - A - Hoot stamp set!

Use your favorite blends and have fun coloring the little owls.
Highlight your favorite areas with a little bit of Wink of Stella and instant sparkle :)
This picture really shows where I added the Wink of Stella - - either I'm wasn't wearing my glasses or I didn't take enough time with photography....but the lighting really caught the bling!

Yes, I immediately fell in love with these little guys - - but when I noticed the dies
included this window template - - it was a must have!!!!
The coordinating die cuts this trio of perfectly placed windows!
 - - BONUS - -
The cut out window pieces make the cutest little tags!

Quick tip: Cut your dsp layer to the correct size before using the window die to center it easily.

Don't forget the inside of your card!

Did you notice the "Have a Hoot on Halloween" and this BOO!
both share a multi toned background??

A little bit ago, I was practicing creating sunsets on scrap paper
using sponges with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie.
They were a little "streaky" (I promise that's a word in my world!)
and I threw back in my scrap pile.

They caught my eye while I was making this card and realized - -
how great they would look as accent pieces instead of full card layers!

I even cut the little moon out of the scrap to add a little more definition.

What do you think??

Supplies:
Stamps: Have A Hoot
Cut & Emboss: Peek A Hoot Dies
Paper: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Regals 6x6 DSP (Pumpkin Pie)
Ink: Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie
Blends/Markers: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Chalk Marker

Lasting Elegance

LASTING ELEGANCE

One of the best things about being a Stampin' UP! demonstrator is the amazing people
you get to work with and the ideas we share with each other.

Every couple of months (more or less) we get together
and each bring a project for everyone to make.
It's a really great way to play with stamps you may not own AND
we all have such different styles, that the variety is simply astounding!

Everyone I get to stamp with - - is just so talented.
And I can't resist sharing them with you!

My friend, Zelda, created this beautiful card.
So very elegant with all the soft, subtle colors and a hint of bling!

Zany Zebras - Wild About You!

ZANY ZEBRAS

I had fun making this sweet card!

I actually made it last month - - just before my 21st Wedding Anniversary.

It wasn't THE card I gave my hubby - - but I sure did have him on mind :)

I thought it was just too cute that the ZANY ZEBRAS could be lined up,
as if, they are looking at each other.

A couple of cute little hearts, borrowed from A LITTLE LACE stamp set, complete the inside.
The insert is off-set to coordinate with the card front.

Supplies:
Stamps: Zany Zebras, A Little Lace, Birch Background
Cut & Emboss:
Paper: Whisper White, Smokey Slate, Misty Moonlight, In-Color DSP

Strong and Beautiful

STRONG AND BEAUTIFUL

I love the sayings in the Strong and Beautiful stamp set!

The little flowers were laying on my work table - -
and it was approaching time to clean up for the day.

So...I had to decide to store them away somewhere or throw them away (EEK!)

It was quick and easy to pull the layers together, using the same colors as the flowers
 - - and using this awe-inspiring sentiment as the focal point.

I'm really happy with how this quick card using leftovers makes a big impact!

Blossoms In Bloom - Extra Stepped Up!

BLOSSOMS IN BLOOM

Starting with the first card as the same base....

The bottom layer is stamped in Pool Party.

THEN...
I layered details to the flower using the coordinating Many Layered Blooms die cuts!

The second layer is Pretty Peacock card stock; then topped with Pool Party card stock.

The die cut layers are large enough to fill the entire card base layer.
The Blossom in Bloom stamp is meant to be the center.

My first couple tries, I discovered my die cut layers didn't fit on the card stock - -
so I pulled out my Stamp - A - Ratus.

Amazing life saver! Turned the process super simple!

1. Place the die cut pieces on card base and placed it on the lined paper.
2. Place the UNIKED stamp on top of the die cuts.
3. Close the lid and your stamp sticks to the glass.
4. Remove the die cuts, leaving your card base.
5. Ink of your stamp and close the lid again!
6. Perfect placement every time!

**Hint - - I stamped once straight onto the lined paper - -
I'll save the paper and next time I can place the stamp in the same spot!

Supplies:
Stamps: Blossoms In Bloom
Cut & Emboss: Many Layered Blossoms
Paper: Whisper White, Pretty Peacock, Pool Party
Ink: Pool Party, Pretty Peacock
Accessories: Everyday Label Punch, Rhinestones (Colored with Pretty Peacock Blends)

Blossoms In Bloom - Happy Birthday

Blossoms In Bloom

I had some time to play with the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set and coordinating dies cuts.

I had all the supplies out and as I got started
I thought the flower stamp made the prettiest card all by itself!

This turned out to be a very fun, simple card that is stunning!

It's the perfect card to create just using Stamps, Ink, and Paper!
A great back-to-basics stamping experience.

Check back tomorrow and to see the next card I made when I added a couple of new details!

Ride With Me on the Waterfront

RIDE WITH ME
on the
WATERFRONT

I had so much fun making this little card!

I used the Ride with Me stamp set to create the truck. Then, I fussy cut and used the Pumpkin Pie Blends for color.

The Waterfront stamp set created the fun landscape in the background. I had a lot of fun mix and matching the stamps to create the tropical oasis....but it was certainly an adventure. This stamp set is completely EASY to put together and is so forgiving. By nature, you can use this set to build the scene and deepen and vary colors by stamping over different areas. It's really hard to ruin your card.

BUT...leave it to me. I must have been tired while stamping...because this was my fourth attempt. Not because the stamp is hard to use....but first I dropped the ink pad and had a big black line across the sky. My second attempt....I inked the wrong color and accidentally stamped bright, blue palm trees. Normally, I'd go with it and make a non traditional scene...but the palm trees were last...so it really didn't work. Of course, now I was annoyed with myself. One last try. Guess who had inky fingers!

So...I took a break. Took a walk. Cut the rest of the pieces to this card. And VOILA!

Are you ready to Ride with Me on the Waterfront??
Sorry...cheesy...I know. I couldn't resist.

And....a quick finished and polished inside, while all my supplies were still out on my table.

Supplies:
Stamps: Ride with Me, Waterfront
Cutting & Embossing: Coastal Weave Embossing Folder
Paper: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake
Ink: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pacific Point
